COMPUMED, INC. APPOINTS PHILLIP M. BERMAN, M.D. TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS
LOS ANGELES, Aug. 3, 2004 -- CompuMed, Inc. (CMPD.OB) -- a medical informatics company serving the healthcare community with diagnostic software solutions -- today announced the appointment of Phillip M. Berman, M.D. to its board of directors.
"We are pleased to add Dr. Berman to CompuMed's board," said Robert Stuckelman, the company's founder and chairman. "His business and medical expertise will complement the experience of our existing personnel, and open new opportunities for CompuMed in the rapidly expanding medical imaging industry."

Dr. Berman comes to CompuMed's board with experience as a physician, entrepreneur and Fortune 500 senior level executive. His medical accomplishments include founding three successful radiology practices, serving as chairman of three radiology departments, and founding two successful for- profit imaging centers.
Dr. Berman founded CompuRAD, where he served as chairman and CEO, and guided the company from a boot-strap startup through a successful IPO. He then joined Lumisys, where he served as president and CEO, spearheading the repositioning of the company from a medical device manufacturer to a leading provider of Internet-based medical appliances.
While at Lumisys, he also established AuntMinnie.com -- the world's leading Internet portal for medical imaging professionals. When Lumisys and AuntMinnie.com were acquired by Eastman Kodak in December 2000, Dr. Berman joined Kodak's $2.5 billion health imaging business. He served in various senior management roles, including vice-president and managing director of business development for Kodak Health Imaging, and group vice president for growth businesses in Life Sciences and Internet Enterprises.
Dr. Berman graduated cum laude from both Harvard University and the Medical College of Pennsylvania. He completed his residency in radiology at UC San Diego. He lives in Coronado, California with his wife, Judy, and three children.
