COMPUMED, INC. RELEASES NEW VERSION OF OSTEOGRAMŽ SOFTWARE WITH ENHANCED PACS/DICOM CAPABILITIES
PACS SYSTEM VENDOR AMS BEGINS SHIPPING THE SOFTWARE

LOS ANGELES, Aug 02, 2007. CompuMed, Inc. (CMPD.OB)-- a medical informatics company serving the healthcare community with diagnostic software solutions -- announced today that it has expanded its support of PACS/DICOM in its OsteoGram(R) software.

The picture archiving and communication systems (PACS) is standard for the interoperability and storage of medical imaging and typically supports the Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) image format.

Now shipping, OsteoGram 1.36 includes the capability to send images to PACS systems directly from the OsteoGram report module, as well as the ability to query and retrieve images from PACS directly. This enhances support for PACS/DICOM implementations and makes sending DICOM reports faster and easier.

Maurizio Vecchione, CompuMed's CEO, said," This software enhancement is important because it paves the way for integration between our software and other devices that offer bone density testing in conjunction with additional screenings." He added, "We believe that the market is rapidly evolving towards linking bone health testing with procedures such as mammography and other routine procedures." Mr. Vecchione added that CompuMed's vision is to integrate OsteoGram more tightly with other devices so that bone density screening can be performed as part of integrated workflow. "This software release takes us a step closer to that reality," he said.

CompuMed also announced that American Medical Sales Inc. (AMS), a PACS/DICOM system integrator, is now offering and installing OsteoGram throughout its customer base. AMS has more than 50 years of experience and has spent thousands of hours working with radiologists and other medical imaging professionals designing better viewing stations to increase productivity and improve readings.
