When unpacking the OsteoGram System and before discarding any packaging materials, confirm that you have received all of the included items:
  • 1 - Desktop computer with OsteoGram System Software pre-installed
  • 1 - Flatbed Scanner
  • 1 - X-ray Film Cassette with pre-affixed hand positioning template and two calibration reference wedges
  • 1 - OsteoGram User Manual
  • 1 - Hardware Security Key
  • 1 - Calibration Test Film
Verify that the power is turned off for the monitor, computer system and digital scanner
I - Set up your monitor
  1. Plug signal cable into signal connector numbered "1" at back panel of computer.
  2. Plug adapter output cable into jack at back panel of LCD monitor with power cord plugged into the adapter
  3. Connect the monitor power cord to power source
II - Set up your computer system
  1. Plug keyboard cord into round purple jack numbered "3" at back panel of computer
  2. Plug mouse cord into round green jack numbered "4" at back panel of computer
  3. Connect hardware security key to the burgundy 25-pin parallel port numbered "2". To include a printer, connect printer to the free end of the hardware security key.
  4. Plug power cord into computer
  5. Connect computer power cord to power source
III - Set up your scanner
  1. To unlock your scanner: Carefully tilt your scanner or pull it to the edge of the surface it's sitting on until you can see the unlocking screw at the bottom of the scanner. Using a coin, turn the screw counterclockwise one quarter turn. The screw will come loose, and your scanner is now unlocked.
  2. Plug the terminator numbered "1" into the SCSI connector at the rear of the scanner
  3. Plug one end of the SCSI cable numbered "2" into the free end of the terminator
  4. Plug the other end of the SCSI cable into the SCSI card connector of the PC
  5. Connect the scanner power cord to the power source

Turn on the system
  1. First, turn on the scanner. The power switch is a round button located at the right corner of the front panel.
  2. Allow approximately one minute while the scanner comes on-line, then turn the power on for the computer system and the monitor..
Perform OsteoGram Test
    Now you are ready to perform the first OsteoGram test. (Osteogram Digital Processing Software is completely factory-installed and tested for quick-start-up convenience.)
